About Program

The Public Service Emerging Leaders Fellowship programme is a training initiative targeting Kenya’s youth in public service and steering them towards a citizen-centric service delivery to influence long-term social policy and change.

The aim of this programme is to strengthen public accountability and integrity systems within Kenya’s health sector. It positions young women healthcare professionals to take the lead in driving leadership and accountability.  

WHO CAN APPLY

To be eligible for this programme, you must be: 

  • An employee of the Public Service Commission, working in any State department for not less than three years; 
  • At the time of application, working under permanent and pensionable terms; 
  • In possession of a bachelor's degree from a recognised university and must have graduated in 2016 or later. 
  • Aged between 18-35 years. 

 

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

This programme will help you to: 

  

  • Experience a specially designed curriculum, which incorporates learning, good practices, and knowledge from Kenya and around the world; 
  • Learn practical and experiential lessons focused on public sector-specific leadership development, ethics cultivation and citizen-centred government delivery.  
  • Connect with a pan-African peer network of high-achieving young public servants. 
  • Receive mentorship and continuous career development support; 
  • Engage in community service.  
  • Design capstone projects that will be hinged on Kenya’s medium-term development plans and projects.
