JULIET JACQLINE AWUOR OTIENO

Juliet Jacqline Awuor Otieno is a 35-year-old Kenyan woman who became HIV+ at 17.  She lacked correct information on sexuality and now uses her story to empower young women and girls, locally and internationally. She runs mwanadada, where she highlights stories of African women and leads a team that’s in the process of establishing a social enterprise that uses mobile technology to educate young girls on sexuality and reproductive health.  She currently is the Communications Associate at Eneza Education, the largest virtual classroom that provides local curriculum content through mobile phones to learners in Africa- Kenya, Ghana & Cote d’Ivoire, an organizer of the Nairobi Edtech Meetup and a digital marketer with MyBizMarketer. She has a BA in Public Relations and a diploma in Print & Electronic media. Juliet loves reading, singing, swimming, travelling and great coffee. One of her favorite business books is ‘The Hard Thing about Hard Things’ by Ben Horowitz.
